Toronto's seasons at a glance

Peak season is late May–late September: warm weather, full festival calendar, all attractions open — but also the most expensive and most crowded stretch. Best value for experience is September–early October: fall foliage begins, TIFF runs mid-September, and crowds thin out after the festival ends. Hidden gem is late April–May: cherry blossoms in High Park, reopening patios and some of the lowest hotel rates of the year. Avoid January–February if you can — extreme cold and the most limited outdoor activity window. See our best time to visit Toronto guide for the full month-by-month breakdown.
